Bras can be confusing at the best of times. What size should you buy? Will it be the same if you go into a different store? What if your weight changes?
Here are 4 things you need to know when it comes to bra sizes.
They won’t match your dress size
Your clothing size is unlikely to match your bra size, because your bra needs to be fitted, where as your clothes fit much more loosely against your body.
If you’re buying lingerie online for the first time, go with the size of your current bras (if they fit you).
If you’re not sure what your size is, you can try measuring yourself at home, or you can order a selection of sizes to see what fits you best.
They vary between stores, brands, and styles
Just because you’re one size in one store, it doesn’t mean that will be your size in every store.
All brands vary slightly in their sizing, so don’t be surprised if you end up needing a different size when you buy from a new brand.
They can change if your weight fluctuates
As women, our weight tends to fluctuate quite a lot. Sometimes the difference will be minimal, but other times you’ll notice it and find your bra will be tight or loose.
This can be really frustrating, especially if you’ve just invested in new bras, but it’s important to wear the correct size so that you get the support you need.
They are different in different countries
Australia, the USA, Europe and the UK all have different sizing when it comes to bras, so if you’re not sure what the conversion is, find a chart online that shows you so you buy the right size.
